The "Arluk" Pinecone necklace is a beautiful sunshine amber yellow perfect for the outdoor lover. The color represents our sweet boy's sunny personality. It has been paired with a sterling silver pinecone charm and surrounded by sterling silver beaded wire, oxidized to highlight every detail. It is finished with a triple twisted bail and an 18" sterling silver chain. The bezel and backplate of the necklace are made from recycled argentium silver. This necklace measures just over 1" from the top of the bail to the bottom of the beaded wire, and just under 1" across including the pinecone.
This collection was inspired by our best boy, Arluk. For those of you who don't know his story, he is a resilient and incredibly lucky dog.
In 2018, Arluk was hit by a car in Georgia. When he was picked up by animal control, they put him in a cage for 3 days with no pain medication and scheduled his euthanasia. He had several fractures to his pelvis and spine.
Then, an angel saw Arluk and called the Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, as he resembled the breed. AKKNR picked Arluk up within an hour of his scheduled euthanasia and began the process of rehabbing him. Money was raised for his extensive surgery which resulted in plates and screws to stablize his fractures. He then spent about a year with his amazing foster family while he healed.
As many of you know, the name of my business comes from my first Alaskan Klee Kai, Kiya, who is now 10. I knew I wanted another AKK but I really wanted to rescue. I had been on the list for a couple of years when I saw Arluk come into the rescue, and I immediately applied for him. We were lucky enough to be chosen for this sweet boy's forever home. He is such a goofball who loves playing with pinecones, cuddling with his dad (or anyone who will let him sit on their lap), and showing you just how much he loves you. Arluk knows that he was rescued and given a second chance at life, and he never lets you forget just how grateful he is. If you saw him running around, you would never know his past. His cute crooked tail is the only indication! We are so, so lucky to have such a unique dog with the best personality, and he deserves his very own jewelry line!
